Eric Botello obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science with a focus on International Relations from St. Mary’s University. After graduating, he attended St. Mary’s University School of Law where he had the honor of gaining national recognition with their national trial team. Mr. Botello has been licensed to practice law since 2017 and has extensive experience in civil and criminal litigation.

Mr. Botello is a trial lawyer. Before joining Pearson Legal, he began his career at the Bexar County District Attorney’s office. He personally oversaw the prosecution of felony assault offenses, crimes against children, sexual offenses, aggravated robbery, arson, gang violence, and drug trafficking. Throughout his tenure as a prosecutor, he personally brought dozens of trials to verdict. His reputation allowed him to secure countless convictions in the pre-trial stages often near the maximum penalty range. 

He spent the next part of his career at a local civil litigation defense firm where his practiced centered on defending insurance carriers in matters regarding catastrophic injury, premises liability, product defects, breach of contract, construction defects, business interruption claims, professional malpractice claims, and employment claims. Now, in his current role with Pearson Legal P.C., he represents Plaintiffs in matters against insurance carriers and builders.

In his spare time, he returned to his alma mater where he revitalized their Undergraduate Pre-Law program which now includes a mock trial program and internship opportunities. He still serves as the main instructor for their national mock trial team. He is also an active member of the American Inns of Court.
