Gravely & Pearson, L.L.P. to represent West Independent School District in an action against its insurance carrier for bad faith and underpayment of property damage as a result of the April 17, 2013 fertilizer plant blast.
West, Texas (May 21, 2014)- Gravely & Pearson, L.L.P. has filed suit on behalf of West Independent School District in an effort to recover damages sustained to its school facilities and buildings as a result of the fertilizer plant explosion. “The district and taxpayers deserve full recovery for the damage to the schools,” stated Matthew R. On April 17, 2013, an ammonium nitrate explosion occurred at the West Fertilizer Company storage and distribution facility in West, Texas, eighteen miles north of Waco. Fifteen people were killed, and over one hundred and sixty people were injured.
